Jason Phoenix is seen sitting in his once furnished apartment. He is sitting cross-legged, hunched over himself. His trusted zippo lighter has been thrown across the room. He wears new black gloves. He does not look at the zippo.
“How could you do this to me? I trusted you. You were my only friend. And look what you did, you hurt me, and turned me into a freak.”
Phoenix looks at his gloved hands and slowly begins to peel one off, eying the scars now covering his hands.
“You turned me into a monster. You were supposed to keep me safe.”
He pulls the glove back on, unable to look at his permanent wounds.
“I fed you, kept you alive. I did whatever you told me to do. And this is how you repay me? Fine then! No more! You want to hurt me! Then I’ll hurt you back! No more fuel, no more life! You’ll see! You need me to keep alive! The fire will see. It was my friend, but now, it’s dead to me!"
Beginning to rock a bit in his balled up position, he talks quieter, trying to distract himself.
“Big match this week; I have to fight a man that has defeated Josh Eagles, a feat I have never managed to achieve. I have faced Eagles 3 times now and still nothing. But this Dru Tha Merc character comes in and takes him down just like that. Needless to say this will be an extremely difficult match. Can I defeat a man that has killed giants? A man that has so much more skill than myself? I can’t remember the last time I saw him lose. He is incredible. But he has one downfall this week; he doesn’t want to fight me. He was ready for a title shot against Eagles, and he got stuck with me. Either he’ll give up the fight and not even waste his breath, or he’ll pummel me to the ground in a blind fury. This is a very dangerous situation. I could easily emerge victorious if Dru is trying to insult the Kings. But, if he’s angry, then I’m doomed. I’m alone this week, no one here to help me, protect me, make me strong. I’m alone. But I cannot let that affect my fighting. Dru Tha Merc wanted to fight the Eagle, but he’ll have to defeat the Phoenix.”
Phoenix begins to rock harder as the scene fades to black.
