*The scene opens up in a small locker room backstage in the Cookeville Community Center. The gray cold concrete walls are illuminated by a single swinging light bulb in the middle of the room hanging down from a metal chain. A small electronic buzz coming from the light is the only sound heard in this room where Adam Abel sits on a wooden bench staring down at the floor. Abel is sitting there still hot and covered in sweat from his match, not even taking the time to take a shower or even take off his wrestling gear. Abel is lost in thought of how great it is to be doing what he loves again. Adam is reflecting back on how much he actually missed being in the ring, feeling the fans eyes follow him the entire match, the sense of anticipation that spreads throughout the crowd whenever he sets up for a big move, the roar of approval when he hits the Shooting Star Press or Welcome to Boston...The feeling of knowing he still has the ability to do what he loves. Abel smiles and nods with that sense of accomplishment to himself. To Abel's immediate right a door swings open and a intern pokes his head in.*
Intern: Mr. Abel, I'm sorry to bother you but I was wondering if you needed anything? Like a water or gatorade? Anything I can do?
*Abel looks up at the young man with messy blond hair and shakes his head no.*
Adam Abel: No thanks man, I think I am good. By the way, it's Adam, not Mr. Abel.
Intern: Oh okay Mr- I mean, Adam. Good match by the way, its great to have you back.
*The kid turns to leave before Adam stands up and puts his hand on his shoulder to stop him. The intern turns to face him once again.*
Adam Abel: Thanks bud, I really appreciate that Hey, what's your name?
Intern: Tim sir.
*Adam offers his hand to shake and Tim smiles and shakes it firmly.*
Adam Abel: Nice to meet you Tim. Actually, there is something you can do for me. If you could go and find Alex Avice for me, I have a few things I want to say for KoP.com and I would appreciate a few minutes of him time.
Tim the Intern: I can do that.
Adam Abel: Thanks bud. Tell him I will meet him in about 30 minutes in the media room.
Tim the Intern: Yes sir.
*Adam looks at him with a look on his face that says "What did you just call me?"*
Tim the Intern: Er...I mean Adam.
*Tim hurriedly leaves the room as Abel chuckles to himself at the kid that can't be too much older than he is. Adam, still only 21 years old himself can remember being backstage at his brother's boxing matches. Abel can still remember the electricity in the air before all of Greg's matches, knowing that his brother was about to win another match. Its what made him want to get into wrestling. Adam wanted to make a name for himself and get out of his brother's shadow but he could not deny that his brother's legacy in the New England area had a profound and lasting impact on his life.
Adam tries to get his mind out of the past as he goes over to his navy blue gym bag that is sitting in the corner of this room. Abel reaches inside of it and pulls out his iPhone and finds that he has a text waiting for him. Adam slides his finger across the screen to unlock it and grins as he reads the message waiting for him.
"Hey Big Bro!
I just wanted to tell you it was great seeing you back in action. You looked awesome out there and you really kicked ass! Take care of yourself and I will see you when you get back to Bean-town!
Love you!
Emma"
*Adam is so happy to see that his sister still takes time to watch his matches and is proud of him. Adam wouldn't know what he would do without all the support and love of him family and is incredibly thankful to have them in his life. Abel reaches into his bag and pulls out a towel that he uses for his showers and puts his phone down on the bench and begins to walk away, but something stops him and he looks back at the phone sitting there. Adam then throws the towel over his shoulder and reaches for his phone. Adam presses a couple of buttons and and puts the phone up to his ear, but sports a look a disappointment he reaches a voicemail message. Adam takes a deep breath and waits for the beep before beginning his message.
Adam Abel: Hey, its me...
*The scene fades out.*
Later That Night
*Alex Avice is shown sitting uncomfortably in a small directors chair in front of a Kingdom of Pride banner. Avice is still wearing the same suit he had on during Oblivion but the tie is loosened up around his neck. Avice looks exhausted but still has a buzz of excitement in his voice as he looks into the camera and smiles.*
Alex Avice: Welcome to a Kingdom of Pride.com exclusive interview with the man who re-debuted this past weekend on Oblivion...former Pro Wrestling Fire World Heavyweight Champion Astonishing Adam Abel! Adam, how did it feel to go back out there?
*The camera zooms out to reveal Adam sitting across from him in another director's chair.*
Adam Abel: It felt great to be back in front of the fans once again. I would be lying if I said I didn't miss it. It is the best feeling in the world to be back doing what I love.
Alex Avice: I couldn't help but notice that most of the fans didn't seem overly happy to see you back in action. A lot of jeers out there Abel!
*Adam smiles and nods.*
Adam Abel: Well to be fair, can you blame them? I was a world class douche bag during my last run. I got caught up in the wrong crowd and I let my own talents to right back to my head. Basically, I was an idiot. I thought I was getting overlooked and the only way to get attention was to lash out at the people who loved and supported me all along. My family..
*Adam looks down at the ground for a moment in quiet reflection on his mistakes before finishing his thought.*
Adam Abel: And my fans. Trust me, I'm still paying for the mistakes I made and I fully support the fans decision to boo me out there when I came out. I heard the crowd slowly start to support me again and I hope over the next few weeks I can win them over some more. I want them to know that I am back and better than ever not only for myself, but for them. In these times, people deserve and need someone to look up to and cheer...I want to be that man. I was that in PWF, and I strive everyday to be that here in Kingdom of Pride.
*Avice sorta rolls his eyes at this but presses on.*
Alex Avice: That's...sweet. So next week you got another difficult match when you team with newcomer Daevin Dushane against Steven Callaway and John Parker. Tough task.
Adam Abel: Indeed it is. Daevin reminds me a lot of myself. He is looking to make a name for himself here just like I was a few years ago. He got a lot of raw talent, but he really needs to apply himself and step up. I hope this week he is taking training seriously and preparing himself for one hell of a battle, because that is exactly what he are facing. Steven Callaway is one tough competitor. Back in the day in PWF, I'll admit it, I wasn't overly impressed. But now, he is a completely different beast. He's beaten me before and he is perfectly capable of doing it again. But if he thinks I am going to let him walk all over me this week, he has got another thing coming. I'm looking to show him that I'm not done, despite what all the critics might say. I may be fighting my way back up the ladder again, but I plan to be a main eventer again. And if Callaway thinks he has got me all figured out, well then he is certainly in for a big surprise.
Alex Avice: And what about Johnny Noble? Any thoughts?
Adam Abel: With the last name of Noble, you know he has got the raw skills and talent. But beyond that, I have to be honest, I don't know much about him. I haven't been following things as closely as I used to, but I know I will be reviewing all the tape I can find this week on my opponents and my partner, so next week they better be prepared because I am coming to win. I'm not going to defeat myself like I used to in the past, I am bringing my A game each and every week. No weeks off, no mercy. The fans deserve all I can give, and frankly I am only cheating myself when I don't give it all I got. I've grown dramatically as a person since the last time everyone has seen me. I've had my share of losses in my life and now I am looking to turn things around. Do you believe in destiny Alex?
Alex Avice: I never really thought about it that much Adam.
Adam Abel: Well, I believe that the only destiny out there is the destiny that you make for yourself. And the destiny I am creating for myself is to be back on top of this business. I want to be Valiant Champion. I want the company on my shoulders and I want to carry it to bigger and better heights. I'm putting it all out on the table right now, Astonishing Adam Abel is back and he is better than ever before. If someone wants to make a name for themselves off me, they are more than welcome to try but I think they are going to be disappointed in the outcome. I'm here to win. I'm here to make the fans want to see what I am going to do next. I am here to become a first ballot hall of famer. So here is the challenge to anyone who is going to face me in the coming months...Bring it. No excuses, no crying. Bring everything you got because that is what I am bringing. All my heart and soul is going into that ring to beat whoever is facing me. Failure is not an option and I guarantee you that I am not going down without a fight. Callaway and Noble better be ready this weekend, because I damn sure will be.
*Adam then stands up and pulls off his microphone and walks off the set. Avice just watches him with a look of shock due to the sudden abruptness of how the interview ended. The screen fades to black.*
Later That Night in Boston
*The scene comes back on in a small coffee house. The smell of brewing coffee and freshly baked muffins fill the air as patrons of all ages are seated drinking coffee out of ceramic mugs of various sizes and colors. A college aged young woman with her brown hair drawn back into a ponytail with gives her an almost mousy look takes her last sip of her coffee while working on her laptop. She notices one of the servers walking by and holds her mug into the air.*
College Girl: Can I get a refill miss?
*The hand reaches out to take the mug and the camera slowly pans up to reveal a very tired looking Melanie Abel smiling politely and taking the mug.*
Melanie Abel: Sure thing, coming right up!
*Melanie's smile quickly fades off her face as she walks back over to the back of the big room where the coffee bar is set up. Melanie places the mug down on the counter and exhales exhaustively. Melanie begins to mess with the straps on her green apron when she is surprised by the person speaking to her from behind the counter.*
Coffee Server: College girls right? Always thinking they are so much better than us!
*Melanie chuckles slightly to herself as she looks up at the handsome bearded man who is pouring the caffeinated beverage into the mug.*
Melanie Abel: Don't be like that Pete! Without those inconsiderate jerks we wouldn't have a job! Plus, I kinda used to be like her back in the day.
Pete: What? A pretty looking girl like yourself a stuck up snob? Somehow I doubt that.
*Melanie smiles and slightly blushes as she looks down at the floor in slight embarrassment at this flirty comment.*
Pete: Hey, I think its about your break time. Tell you what, I will take this to snotty McGee over there. Why don't you go ahead and catch your breath.
Melanie Abel: Really? That is really nice of you! Thanks so much!
*Melanie walks off and he checks her out as she goes. Pete smiles slightly while he thinks about the things he would like to do to her before the scene changes to the back room of the coffee shop where Melanie retrieves her cell phone where it shows she has one unheard voice mail. Melanie flips open her phone and presses play and smiles brightly when she hears Adam's voice.*

But I still want you back. I love you baby more than you will ever know and I hope I can see you sometime this week, even if its just for lunch. Let me know. Bye."
*Melanie smiles as she closes the phone as she thinks about what Adam said. Melanie exhales deeply and leans against the wall as the screen fades to black.*
