Winter Warfare is just two days away, and Robbie Venom is concerned. However, the source of his concern is not his opponents - not directly at least. Instead Venom is concerned about his team mates. He is worried that they do not realise the full seriousness of the situation they find themselves in. He fears that Shawn Stevens and Rich Hamilton have no idea just how important their respective matches at the Super Show are, not only to their goals in KoP but also to their once flawless reputations.
Robbie Venom has reason to be concerned, and when that is the case he refuses to just sit around and let it eat away at him. He does something about it.

Robbie Venom has reason to be concerned, and when that is the case he refuses to just sit around and let it eat away at him. He does something about it.
...
The scene begins in a darkened room. We can just make out a figure sitting, and as the camera zooms in we see that it is Robbie Venom sitting on the edge of his bed, lit spliff in mouth, his face illuminated by the glow coming from his bedside clock. As Robbie sits there, his eyes never falter, staring blankly into the same dark space. The only time he moves is when he slowly raises the joint to his mouth to inhale. He holds the hit for a few seconds, before releasing the smoke into the darkness.
A few moments pass before a stirring is heard from the bed Robbie sits on.
"Rob?" a familiar voice asks, before the room is suddenly lit up as Rebecca Dalton switches on a bedside lamp. Robbie doesn't even flinch, not even when Rebecca sits up and moves closer, wrapping an arm around her boyfriend's chest from behind. "What are you doing up?"
"Couldn't sleep..." he replies quietly before taking another hit of the joint.
"So you thought you'd get up and smoke alone in the dark?"
"I figured it couldn't hurt."
Moving around to Robbie's side, Rebecca rests her head on his left shoulder. "What's up, babe?"
"Oh you know, the usual. Crooks and frauds running the business I love... or at least used to love, before it turned its back on me and broke my heart."
Rebecca raises her head and stroke's Robbie's cheek. "Come on, Rob...it's not that bad surely."
Snorting at the comment, Robbie turns his head away. "Isn't it? I remember when I first came into this business. I saw a world full of infinite possibilities and wonders. I was around men who would work hard to be a success. Sure, some of them were dicks, but at least they still had dignity..." After stumping out his joint, Robbie glances at Rebecca then shakes his head. "Now fucking look at it. A place where a man like Josh Eagles is made out to be the savior of an entire promotion, a man who changes his mind what side he wants to be on every other fucking week; a man who can't even decide whether he cares about the fans or not! The guy is an absolute joke, yet he's the sort of person we're supposed to look up to as a standard setter now? A role model? Is that what I'm supposed to aspire to be? Seriously, it says a lot when the future looks brighter with Christian Kane as your top Champion..."
While he talks, Robbie's face appears to be slightly twisting, and it becomes apparent his own words are angering him as they leave his mouth. "A world where two owners of a wrestling promotion choose to focus on one-upping each other and winning popularity contests, rather than making their company all it could be. The potential of KoP is damn near infinite, yet those two morons are turning it into a disaster zone. And of course not forgetting The Krieg. That's what my beloved wrestling business has come to, where a team like that can run riot whenever they choose. The business I love has been infected with filth and treachery, and if I don't cut this cancer out soon it's only a matter of time before it becomes terminal. So it begins on Sunday... with The Krieg."
Clearly Rebecca is worried by her boyfriend's behaviour, as she has been increasingly over the last few weeks, but she does her best to act normal and talk Robbie around. "Well ultimately that's what you enjoy doing, right? Wrestling. You've always loved a challenge, and as tough as this one appears to be I know you can do it."
Robbie's lip curls into a wry smile. "I know I can. Don't you think I know that? That's not what worries me."
Rebecca frowns. "Then what is it then?"
"Shawn and Rich... They don't seem to have their eyes on the prize. Sure they know all the right things to say to fool everyone else, but not me. Sometimes it seems as if this whole movement of ours is nothing but a glorified joy ride to them. And if Shawn isn't as committed to this as I am, then in a tag team match I'm as good as helpless. The outcome could easily be out of my hands, and before I know it we're suffering a defeat there's no coming back from."
"Listen to yourself!" Rebecca suddenly raises her voice in protest. "This is Shawn you're talking about! He's been one of your best friends for years, and you're talking about him like he's nothing to you, like he can't be trusted. You should be less concerned about him letting you down and more concerned about getting on the same page, otherwise you might find it's you who lets the team down."
"I'm not entirely sure I can trust Shawn," Robbie continues, completely unfazed by Rebecca's words; in fact he goes on as if he never heard her at all. "I'm not sure I can trust anybody in this business any more. I suppose for allies mine are as close to trustworthy as I could hope to find, but still... I can't win this war alone and right now I feel like a one man army."
Both upset and angry now, Rebecca gets to her feet and stands in front of her boyfriend. "What war!? What's happened to you?"
Robbie slowly looks up at his girlfriend and cocks his head. "What's happened to me?"
"Yes! You've become a deluded, paranoid mess!"
Not helping the situation, Robbie smiles. "I suppose nobody can understand, not really. Nobody can be enlightened like I am unless they've experienced what I have." Pausing briefly, Robbie takes a deep breath. "But I can't carry this burden alone. Maybe there's one man who can at least partly understand."
"What the hell are you talking about? Am I even getting through to you at all?"
"I can't allow anyone to penetrate my psychological defences. I can't have my mindset rocked..."
Before Rebecca - who now looks more scared than anything else - can respond, Robbie suddenly stands and without another word to his girlfriend he begins to get dressed. "What are you doing?"
"Going out."
"It's 4am!"
Straight faced, Robbie shrugs. "I don't have time to lay in bed when I can't even sleep. I need to see this man, as soon as possible."
"What man?"
Venom shakes his head. "I can't tell you that. Not yet anyway."
Stunned by the magnitude of Robbie's paranoia, Rebecca can only shake her head and look baffled as he throws on a black t-shirt and a pair of jeans. Then as Rebecca looks on, Robbie simply walks passed her, and out the door.
"Rob!" Rebecca calls after him. No reply. "Robbie!" Again no response... and the scene fades to black as the concerned girlfriend of Robbie Venom fights back tears, helplessly staring at the door he walked out of.

The Next Day...
At Hamilton Estates, the scene fades back in to find Shawn Stevens and Rich Hamilton playing Xbox Kinect on a large widescreen TV. As you would expect, the two appear to be having a great time as they step back and forth and jump about, giggling like school children at times. But there is one man who does not share in their amusement. Dressed in all black, including a leather jacket and a hooded top (hood pulled up despite the fact it's not an overly cold day and he's inside) Robbie Venom slowly enters the room, and stands watching his stable mates dead-eyed, not saying a word. A few moments pass before Rich finally turns his head and spots Robbie, jumping as he does.
"Jesus, Robbie! You gave me a fright there. Lost your voice or something?"
As if he actually has lost his voice, Robbie doesn't answer the question. Instead he continues to stare as Rich looks increasingly uncomfortable. Finally Shawn turns and approaches Robbie with a smile. "Robbie! What's up, bud? Where have you been all day? You don't write, you don't call! You do remember we have a match tomorrow, right?" Shawn jests, but still barely a flinch from Robbie.
Slowly, Venom turns his head to look at the TV. He sneers before turning back to Shawn and Rich. "I've been doing some work."
"Oh really? You know I've got a gym right here in the estate, don't you?"
"Not that kind of work."
Smiling a little nervously, Shawn glances at Rich and then back at Robbie. "Are you going to tell us what?"
Shawn doesn't get an answer to his question. Instead Robbie turns his attention to Rich. "I need ten thousand dollars," he asks, as if it was the most usual request in the world.
"Excuse me?"
"Ten thousand dollars... I need it. You have money, don't you? You are the money behind this movement, are you not? That is what you assured us when we went into business with you."
Rich frowns. "Yes, I have money. But ten Gs is hardly pocket money, Robbie. You're going to have to at least tell me what it's for."
"I can't do that."
Rich laughs for a moment, but then sees that Robbie is deadly serious. "Wait a minute... you want me to give you ten thousand dollars of my money, and you're not going to tell me why? I'm supposed to just have faith in you and go with it?"
"Firstly, it's not your money, it's The Illuminati's money. Secondly, yes, you are supposed to just have faith in me. I've done more than enough to earn your trust and show I'm committed to this movement, which is more than can be said for others." Both Rich and Shawn frown at this comment, but before they can protest Robbie continues. "What I can tell you is that the money will be put to good use - use that will benefit The Illuminati greatly - especially at Winter Warfare."
"Robbie... what are you talking about?" Shawn asks, frowning at a man he barely recognises as his friend.
"I'm talking about The Krieg. I'm not sure you're aware just how much we need to win this match. There's no room for any more blips. Not one. It's now or never, and I can't afford to go into Winter Warfare without knowing for sure that The Krieg will be taken care of. That's why I need the money - to purchase us an insurance policy."
"What do you mean an 'insurance policy'?"
"You'll see, all in good time," Robbie replies, sticking to his guns. "Now can I have the money or not."
Rich appears to mull it over for a moment, before looking at Shawn who simply shrugs. Shaking his head, Rich turns back to Robbie. "Fine... I'll get you the money. I just need to make some calls first. Is that acceptable?" he asks bitterly.
"I'll be waiting outside," is Robbie's only answer before he turns his back on his stable mates and walks away.
A few moments pass before Rich turns to Shawn. "Seriously, he is not all there, Shawn. We need to sort this shit out and fast."
Shawn sighs. "Just get him the money. We'll worry about that after Winter Warfare. Until then I worry about taking care of The Krieg, and you worry about Stephen Callaway."
"Pfft! That and the ten thousand dollar hole in my bank account!" Rich protests as he storms away to make his calls, leaving Shawn alone for a moment.
The Sensational One looks deep in thought as he looks in the direction Robbie left. "Just what the hell is going on in your head, Robbie?" he says quietly, before sighing and turning away as the scene fades to black.
...
Exactly what is going on in Robbie's head nobody but the man himself knows, but what Venom's nearest and dearest are beginning to fear is that he isn't even Robbie Venom anymore. Just what this means for the Illuminati, The Krieg, and the Kingdom of Pride itself... well guessing at that is about as predictable as Robbie's next move. It's becoming more and more apparent to everyone that they have no choice but to just sit back and see how things play out...
