The chilly weather of Cookeville, TN was nothing that she wasn't use to. Growing up in Denmark she dealt with cold weather, and harsh winters throughout the places she had resided in Europe. It was almost comforting for her, the crisp air stinging her face as she walked along the street. Her hands shoved deep in her coat pockets, she watches as the people she passes can't help but take a second look as the cross each other. She comes to a stop as she approaches a small coffee shop, a small grin crossing her lips as she notices a familiar face sitting on the other side of the big window of the little shop. She walks inside, approaching the attractive gent she noticed outside. She takes a seat across from him, grinning, eyes meeting and him exchanging the smile.
Aurelia: I am happy to see that you could make it, Viktor.
Viktor: You know I would travel to the ends of the earth for you, Aurelia.
She can't help but smile. He was always so good to her. Anytime she needed him, he would find his way to her. No matter the distance, no matter the situation.
Aurelia: One of many reasons why I love you so.
Viktor: What type of big brother would I be if I wasn't so willing?
Aurelia: A typical one?
She laughs slightly as a waitress approaches the two, pen and note pad in hand.
Waitress: Can I get you two anything?
Aurelia: I will take coffee, black.
Viktor: Same for me, thank you.
The waitress nods without writing anything down. She returns quickly with two cups and a thermos of coffee. Viktor fills both cups, sliding one forward to Aurelia. She takes a sip, setting her cup down lightly.
Viktor: So, Relia. Why did you call me to Tennessee, of all places.
Aurelia: Well, I wanted to tell you this in person, which is why I called you here.
Viktor: Are you going to tell me, or just pussyfoot around it?
Aurelia: I joined... A federation.
Viktor: Like... The Trade Federation?
Aurelia: Always Star Wars with you, Viktor, isn't it?
Viktor: Well, when you come at me with nothing but the word "federation" to describe what you are currently involved with, my mind is naturally going to drift into Geekdom. You should now this by now.
Aurelia: All too well. But no, not the Trade Federation. It's called Kingdom of Pride.
Viktor: And what is this Kingdom of Pride, exactly?
Aurelia: Viktor... I became a wrestler.
Viktor: You're kidding me, right? After all the hell you went through training, and you waste it on... Wrestling?
Aurelia: I am not wasting it. So don't patronize me. You don't understand, Vik. This is a huge opportunity for me. I am the only female on the roster.
Viktor: Like that is supposed to make me feel any better?
Aurelia: Look, I want you to come see me wrestle. I am having my second match tomorrow, and it would mean a lot to me for you to witness it.
Viktor: I can't say that I approve of what you are doing here, Aurelia. But, I am not going to deny your request. I love you, and if this is what makes you happy, then so be it.
Aurelia: Well, at least you aren't being completely horrible about it.
Viktor: I can't stop you, so there is no reason for me to try and convince you to do otherwise. As your older brother, all I can possibly do is offer my support.
Aurelia: I appreciate it, truly.
Viktor takes a long drink of his coffee, staring at his younger sister, still in disbelief.
Viktor: So, you say this is your second match, yeah? How was the first one.
Aurelia: I won, but it wasn't much of a win. The man was a push over. Cocky beyond all belief, and I took him out.
Viktor: I am not going to lie, I am pretty proud to hear that. My baby sister, man slayer.
Aurelia can't help but laugh. Her brother always had a special way with words. Though obviously unsatisfied with the career path she was on, he was being uncommonly kind to her about it. His curiousity would eventually bring him around, and until then, she could only hope that his presence would keep her relaxed. She had begun to feel quite lonely in her short time in Tennessee. Not a familiar face in sight. With Viktors arrival, she finally had a little piece of home to cling on to.
Aurelia: I really do appreciate you coming out here, Viktor.
Viktor: I knew you wouldn't have asked me to travel so far if you didn't truly need me. I wasn't going to leave you in the middle of nowhere by yourself.
Aurelia: How long will you be staying?
Viktor: As long as you want me to. I bought a one way ticket out here, just in case I would be staying a while.
She pours herself another cup of steaming black coffee, grinning at her brother. Throughout her life, he was the only stability she had known. After their parents were killed, it was just the two of them. On their own, far too young to venture into the world. He had quickly become her protector. Though four years apart, they were in tune with one another like twins. Now, her training can continue, and her support would be stronger than ever.
Aurelia: Seriously?
Viktor: Absolutely. Like I said, I knew you wouldn't have asked me here unless you really needed me. So, I wasn't going to put a time limit on you. It wouldn't be fair of me. I will stay as long as you need me to, baby sis.
Aurelia: You have to be the best big brother ever. I mean it. Thank you.
Viktor: Who else is going to take care of you if I don't?
He grins at her, before slowly getting up from his chair.
Viktor: Now, if you'll excuse me, I need to take a piss, and have a smoke.
Viktor makes his way to the back of the shop towards the bathroom, leaving Aurelia to herself, and her coffee. She leans back in her chair, tracing the top of the cup with her fingers.
Aurelia: You know, the downside to being the new kid on the block is not knowing anything about a single opponent thrown at me. Puts me at a slight disadvantage, but at the same time, gives me a pretty good advantage. It gives me the ability to not care or feel the need to mindlessly attack my opponent. As fun as it could potentially be.
Much like last week, I come into my match blind. Unknowing of what lies ahead of me at the hands of a mister Daevin Dushane. I honestly cannot say that I don't look forward to it. Yet another opportunity to dive head first into Kingdom of Pride. Throw any opponent you want at me, I will continue to take them down. One by one. Piece, by piece.
Viktor pokes Aurelia in the shoulder, grinning down at her. She finishes the remaining coffee that sits in front of her, and turns to look up at her brother.
Aurelia: Better now?
Viktor: Absolutely.
Aurelia: Good. An empty bladder and nicotine fix always seems to do you well.
Viktor: Never fails. You want to get out of here? I might as well get a feel for this place if I am going to be here a while.
Aurelia: Sure, let's go.
Aurelia leaves money on the table, and gets up. She straightens out her coat, Viktor opening the door for her. They exit the coffee shop, making their way to the light to cross the street. The sun was still high in the sky, the air still with a heavy chill. The two continuing to chatter on as they cross the road and disappear down the street.
Aurelia: I am happy to see that you could make it, Viktor.
Viktor: You know I would travel to the ends of the earth for you, Aurelia.
