Is there anyone here who's interested in pen and paper roleplay? Like, Dungeons and Dragons and it's many variations, Shadowrun, and GURPS with the books on the character sheets?
Furthermore, would anyone be interested in playing a post-by-post version of a game here on KoP? Even if you have no experience in D&D or stuff like that don't let it dissuade you if you're interested as I'm a patient teacher.
I'm thinking of trying to get a game of All Flesh Must Be Eaten, a zombie survival RPG going and am also interested to see who else likes to play games with die's, score sheets, hot pockets and basements.

I learned most of the English I know from playing DND online, heh. Personally I like Paranoia the best, but almost no-one knows that game. Other than that, DND 3.5 is a good one.

I've heard of Paranoia but haven't played it, that's the police state dystopia one right?

Police state dystopia in a world that's basically based around slapstick comedy taken to the extreme, plus a fifties-ish attitude towards communism. Click here to read 'bouts it, if you'd like.

I've heard of it before, never actually checked out the ruleset though. I'll nab it off RPGNow, seems pretty interesting.

Well, now that I'm actually reading the sourcebook... definitely up to play this.
And everyone else on this forum should be, too. <.<

Welcome ladies and gentlemen to the beautiful city of Anselmo, an urban sprawl which is renowned for it's glitz, glamour, culture and hard work ethic... That was of course... until the outbreak. Once upbeat everymen that went on with their happy lives, they now mingle with the reanimated dead in the meet and greet from Hell. Some say that these zombies came from a government experiment, others say it's ancient voodoo magic while more say that this is a twisted corporation's marketing plan gone awry.
One thing is for certain, Anselmo is not the city it was. In this now chaotic choke-hold the handfuls of survivors that fight to remain have more than just the undead to contend with. In a lawless society they must fight with gangs, raiders, vigilante's and straight up psychopaths in order to escape the once utopia that they called home. Time is running out and with the US Army struggling to contain the outbreak it's only a matter of time before drastic measures are taken.
Who are you? What was your role in Anselmo and what is it now? Will you help the many like you fighting for survival or will you fight for yourself and become an outlaw hell-bent on greed and decadence? Only time will tell in the first edition of this AFMBE series...

Sure, I'll join, although I have zero experience with stuff like that. Always nice to get a game going. I'll sticky this if you make an official topic by the way.

To put things into perspective, AFMBE doesn't follow the usual kind of rules that RPG's follow. Ie, it's not like Dungeons and Dragons where you have a wizard, a healer, a rogue, a fighter etcetera. Characters in the setting that's being used can literally be any type of person from the modern world. Any age group, any social status, any job, any profession, any lifestyle. Anything. So think of a character you would like to play first, any type of role.
Drug Dealer? Cop? Office Worker? News Reporter? Private Detective? Slutty Schoolgirl? Cat Burgler? Grizzled Vietnam Vet? Hell, even a biker. ;D The list is positively endless. Buzz me some ideas and when I've got the books again I'll help you create a full character sheet.

Are you interested in playing Flap? I'd like one more person to join before we start it.
For those with no experience I'll explain how the game works. There's two types of player in pen and paper roleplayer. The player (ie, you) and then there's the Games Master or GM (ie, me). I create the world in which you play through descriptive of the environments. You as the player give instructions as to what you want your character to do and traditionally you will perform a dice roll which determines how successful your action is however to keep it simple I will manage all dice rolls so as to reduce confusion.
So a basic turn would go like this. PLAYER: Eddie Nash walks over to the door and tries to open it. GM: The door is locked. PLAYER: Eddie Nash tries to kick it down. GM: (Depending on how good the die roll is) You successfully boot the door down/You boot right through the middle and your leg gets trapped inside the jagged wood which now begins to wound into your leg.
So basically, you give me instructions on what you want to do, I perform the necessary physics in the games rules to make it happen and then I tell you what happens as a result of your action.
There will also be things like NPC's to interact with, jobs to do, shit like that. So if you're interested let me know.
