Viktor and Aurelia had spent a great deal of time trying to familiarize themselves with their new surroundings. Moving from Denmark was a culture shock for Aurelia while in Portland. She could only imagine what it was like for her older brother. From living all over Europe, and now finding himself in Tennessee. It was nothing like he was use to, and his adjustment was far more rocky than Aurelia's had seemed. At least with her here, he wasn't going through it alone. Though, if it wasn't for her, he wouldn't have been here in the first place. Truth be told, she felt awful asking him to uproot and drop his life in Germany to stay with her. Though he did not mind, she knew that taking him away from everything that he loved and being somewhere completely foreign wasn't exactly what he saw for himself. It wasn't what she saw for herself either. But she had found herself becoming quite fond of the area, and Kingdom of Pride.
She had spent a lot of time trying to assess exactly how she felt about her comrades in the company. She almost felt like a plague as she walked through the halls. A ghost among her peers. Silently watching and observing their every move. Every look. Each word spoken, whether aloud or the things said that don't require words. She constantly felt their eyes all over her. The wrestlers, the staff, the roadies. All of them. Like a caged animal there only for their amusement. The more it happened, the more she realized that she had become slightly fond of it. Almost welcomed it. She was starting to find her niche among the men, taking each one set before her down. It was amusing her to no end.
Minus one little thing. Among all the attention she seemed to accept, there was nothing more disheartening than the highly unwanted advances of John Parker. A slimey little bastard he was, and no one she wanted to associate herself with. No matter how mean and unforgiving she was, he just wouldn't let up.
Now, just twenty-four hours before her chance to put him in his place, and hopefully end his infatuation, she tries to relax with Viktor. He can see that she is becoming increasingly more antsy as the night progresses.
Viktor: You okay, baby sister?
Aurelia: Splendid, Viktor. Truly.
Viktor: I am calling bullshit on that. What is bothering you.
Aurelia: Nothing is bothering me, actually.
Viktor: Then why do you appear so distracted?
Aurelia: Thinking about tomorrow night is all.
Viktor: Ahhh, yes. Your match with the little scumbag.
Aurelia: Bingo.
Viktor: Nervous?
Aurelia: Absolutely not. I quite look forward to making him eat his own teeth. Maybe that will send the message that I want nothing to do with him.
Viktor: He's a bit thick, though. I don't know if kicking his teeth down his throat will do you much good. It might take more than that.
Aurelia: Either way, I will get the point across to him. I am sick of him, week after week, following me like a half-retarded puppy. It's repulsive.
Viktor: I actually think it is pretty amusing.
Aurelia: Only because it isn't your ass he's drooling all over. As my older brother, his actions should appall you. Your skills as a brother are starting to deteriorate.
Viktor: You know that if it were someone who were actually threatening, I would have taken him out the first time he looked at you wrong. I figured that with this gent, you were just biding your time before breaking his heart, as well as his legs.
Aurelia: I suppose you are right. He isn't much of a threat.
Viktor: To qualify as a threat, he would need to qualify as a man first.
She can't help but laugh. Her brother always knew what to say.
Aurelia: Again, you are correct.
Viktor: He will be easy work for you, no doubt. Just think, in no time, you won't have to worry about the little bugger anymore.
Aurelia: See, Viktor, that I am not too sure about. He seems like the type of man that almost likes the abuse. I mean. Each time I have shot him down, he tries that much harder the next time. What if he sees me kicking his head in as me still playing hard to get?
Viktor: That is a seriously vicious and fucked up game of hard to get.
Aurelia: The sad thing is that I think he actually may end up seeing that way.
Viktor: Then you make it a point to not let him see it that way. You have the skill to destroy him in that ring. So do it. Beat the sense he so greatly lacks into him.
She sits still and stares down at her hands. The small bar was nearly empty, and Viktor sat across from her trying to read her face. She made it hard sometimes. They had this way about them that allowed them to conceal any and all emotion from their faces. Situations in life really can change people. He remembered when it was a rarity to see his little sister without a smile on her face. And these days, a smile had become quite foreign.
Viktor: Are you going to be okay if I step outside?
Aurelia: You know fully well I will be.
He cracks a smile, pulling his jacket on. He stands slowly, eyes glued to his sister for a moment, before pulling his smokes from his jacket pocket. He pulls one out and holds it a moment.
Viktor: You sure you don't want one?
Aurelia: I don't plan on picking up another of your bad habits, Viktor. But thank you for offering.
She grins weakly at her brother as he puts his pack back into his jacket pocket. After a moment of silence between them, he makes his leave to the outside. She runs her fingertip along the edge of the mouth of her glass, staring at the vodka as it ripples slightly with her movements.
Aurelia: In every situation, there is purpose. Except, this situation I have somehow gotten myself involved in with John Parker. Which, I suppose, wasn't even my doing. I was a mere innocent bystander when he locked his radar on me. His greasy little British radar. Unfortunately for him, I like real men. Not skeevy little shit talking children.
Truth be told, the man disgusts me about as much as he infuriates me. The advances and stupid lines isn't going to get him anywhere with me. Other than in the ring. I am hoping, within my heart of hearts, that I am able to beat the sense into him he needs. Give him a new outlook on life, and turn his attentions elsewhere. I don't need a boy in my life, I need a man. And a man is something John Parker is very far from. Out of the hoards of incredibly good looking men in this place, and he thinks that my interest would lie in him. He doesn't come off as the smartest man around.
But, all of his faults aside. He will finally get his chance to put his greasy fingers on me. And with that chance, will come my chance... The chance to finally shut his mouth once and for all. My first true encounter in the Kingdom of Pride now gets what he has wanted since the moment he laid his eyes on me. With that opportunity, will only come disappointment for him. He's a pathetic excuse of a human being, and I cannot stress enough that I want nothing more than to destroy any dream he had of me.
She stops for a moment, a look of slight disgust crossing her face.
Aurelia: Ugh, the thought of that man dreaming about me disturbs me... Greatly.
She takes the small glass before her and kills off the rest of the vodka within it. As she sets it back down on the table, Viktor takes his seat across from her once more.
Viktor: I think you need another.
Aurelia: I think you are correct, sir.
Viktor makes his way over to the bar, ordering each of them another of their repsective drinks. He returns, handing Aurelia hers and taking a drink of his. The two begin talking once more, the fading away.
