A suitcase sits open in the middle of a sky blue carpeted floor. Stephen Callaway walks in and out of shot carrying items and dropping some in the case. He stops and looks at the camera
Stephen
“Y’know peeps, for once I may actually be lost for words. I know, crazy! See, I sit here week in and week out in locker room four with my little backdrops and I talk up my match. I stick with match relevance and also get into the monologue a little bit about how the match is a step toward Josh Eagles and the Pride Championship.”
He walks out of shot and returns wrapping the cord around a blender which he places into the case.
Stephen
“I can’t do that this week. This match is not a step closer to the title but a step closer to the final show of Pride. This Sunday’s super show is the final Pride show. I’m not going to get my one on one title shot with Josh, or with anyone for that matter. Like in the locker room, Pride is no more this Sunday.”
He walks away and returns a moment later with a pile of shirts. He folds them in half and drops them into the case.
Stephen
“I’m not one to do a disjustice to Kurt or Jeremy. They sold this match and they told me that they built this match as a kind of future thing in that it would give a look into who’s going to do well in their career… or something, they worded it better. In UWL, I have my one on one World Title match. I recently signed a contract with a company called VOW, Volatile Origins Wrestling, a company out with and independent from anyone within the UWL, Pride, PWF family. It’s a chance to make it on my own instead of migrating toward Pride with the others like I did when PWF died. I have my shot! I have my career!”
He holds his hands up and takes a breath.
Stephen
“This isn't an advert plugging other companis, it's just what I'll be doing incase there's a fan wondering.
Jason Phoenix, through yourself or through management feeling sorry for you, you turned my one on one match with Josh into a Triple Threat. I still maintain to this day that I would have beaten Josh had it been one on one. They then gave the supercard title shot for the next show to you when I told them, rightly, that you would lose. And now, Pride, Honor, and Valiance II is on the horizon and I still can’t get my one on one title match because you’re still in the way! We could go on to whatever company you go to while I wow them at VOW and it would still piss me of that I never won the title here in Pride because of YOU!”
He has a pile of CDs in one hand and places them on top of the shirts
Stephen
“Jason, I’m not going to beat you to show what I can do in the future, I’m going to beat you to prove what I’ve known all along: you’re a loser and I am much, MUCH better than you and that I should have had the headline match with Josh at Survival of the Proud, not you!”
He walks closer to the camera and sits just in front of it.
Stephen
“If this is it. If this is the last time I get to address the fans or the KoP Universe or whatever the buzz word is these days, then I want to do it here. I want to do it personally. If Pride fire me then, the company's ending anyway and I can say I did it how I wanted. Thank you all for your support. I don’t want to break character or whatever and give away too much, just thank you for the support you all gave and how much you made me while I was here.
I was talking to Bruce Hendrickson the other day and he apologised to me for not being there as much as he wanted to be during the days of Epic Angle. I want to take this time to say that there or not it was the best ride I’ve had in this business in a long time
I want to thank Kurt and I want to thank Jeremy. They gave me the chance to have the kind of matches against the kind of opponent I felt I deserved. I faced guys here like Robbie V and Shawn Stevens that I never got the chance to before in UWL or in PWF. They gave me the chance to run with things and they picked me to headline a Supercard and Jason Phoenix aside, this place has been the best and most fun I’ve had in this business in a long, long time and I’ve been in this business for roughly fifteen years.
Jason, I’ve had a great time here and I will be dammed if I’m going to let you ruin my last moments here. I’m coming t beat you, not because I ALWAYS have an Angle!, Always. But because I have Pride in my veins. So for the last time here in Pride, I fade to black.”
I’m saying it, we fade to black
