I got it yesterday and it is leaps and bounds a better football game than Madden.

I would typically buy all EA football titles, but after witnessing how greedy the company has become I've forgone making my purchase. To actually charge fifteen dollars to allow someone to access the online portion of the game which is littered with cheating, and people who disconnect if they are losing is lame.
Not to mention the DLC that should be included in the game they somehow manage to charge another fifteen dollars for you to access. EA ranks right up there with Capcom as some of the biggest scammers in terms of video game producers out there right now.
Although I won't go so far as to say I'll never buy another EA title, just not another sports one, so long as that 15 dollar online fee exist.

I do believe if you purchase the game itself, there is a code that bypasses having to pay to play online (not to mention, they do give you the max allowed space for TeamBuilder teams, which is fantastic news).
With that said, fantastic game. Leaps and bounds beyond NCAA and I'd even say Madden 10 as well.
Stoked for Madden 11.

Yeah I know you get the code for free with a new purchase but what if you have a few accounts, you can only play with one online.
Also i'm pretty sure the online code has a date when it expires, probably Jan or Feb, than you need to take into account all the other little DLC's released that for all intents and purposes should have been put into the game.
Such as the recruiting stuff, that should have been included, but it's the trend of nickle and diming gamers this current generation that gets old and quick.
EA and Capcom are leading the way towards screwing video game consumers. If trends like this prove to be successful it'll have negitive effects on gaming as a whole. I'm a paying customer why scam me for actually wanting to support your title. I'm in no way in favor of pirating but if this current trend continues and games keep losing more and more, I just might consider it.

The online code comes free as long as your buy a new copy, it is your code period. No deadline to use it. If you buy a used copy you need teh 10 to 15 bucks to play online. You don't have to buy the code if you get a used copy, only if you want to play online. EA did this to make some money off of used game sales. Why is it evil that they want to make some money off the people who wait til a game is on the used shelf for 10 bucks less? I don't care if it's a recession, it's only 10 bucks. If you don't have enough money to buy it new, I doubt you have enough to buy it a week used at 50 bucks.

Businesses do what they can to make money while not completely screwing over their customers. BTW, unless you have a moded console, good luck with pirating the games. I've tried, it's nearly impossible to get a game off the internet, put it on DVD rom and then play it in your console. I love when people complain about little things like this. If you are going to buy the game new, then it doesn't effect you. If you were going to buy it used, but this changes your mind to not buying. Don't buy it. But people will. This is a case of if enough target consumers (18-35 males lets say)complain, things will change. Until then, this is what's its going to be.

I normally buy NCAA new each year, and had been buying madden New each year, it's not a point of the money, it's the point of being fleeced for little extras which should be included.
Go check out the DLC for the game, those things should be included, instead they are held out for the purposes of getting extra money.
I'm all for supporting the companies that deserve it, but when you begin to fleece the customers that's what I stop wanting to support them.
The online code isn't the biggest reason why I'm not buying the game this year, it's the DLC which should have been included. Mainly the recruiting DLC, I mean come on, seriously?
As for Capcom, look at the DLC for their games, it's a complete and utter scam, extra outfits for characters in Street Fighter, really, come on those things were given to us free with every other street fighter game, the outfits are on the disk and you have to pay just to unlock them.
A good example of how DLC should be done is Grand Theft Auto, or even Mass Effect for that matter, give us something substantial that adds to the game, which wasn't created along side the game to fleece people. Alan Wake, Oblivion (Minus Horse Armor), Fallout 3, have all done it right, you can really tell they care about the customer.

Honestly, half of those DLC, you'd be wasting your money and time on. The other half are basically, heres a cheat code. Look, if i want to be a 5 star recruit, I'll try to do it in the game, not the marketplace. Hell this one here has to be the stupid DLC. If you really buy this, you are dumber than EA Sports is. Honestly, it's all about how you play the game. in NCAA 09, I have a dynasty with Temple. I'm in my 17th year in the dynasty, FINALLY got a BCS conference invite. 6* program, tv deals and all the shit, if you wanna play the game the right way, EA's not stop you. All the DLC is some steroids for recruiting, which really isn't that hard or complex from me playing 09. Maybe it's a bit more in-depth, but really, it shouldn't be a reason to hate them. Depends on the sales of the DLC, I don't think EA will do something like that for Madden. I agree GTA and Mass Effect do great with the DLC. I loved ME1's DLC. They said an easy 10 hours into both, I played on the hardest difficulty for both the Bring Down the Sky and the other spectre base training thing, got it in about 5. Again, this is petty stuff to not buy a game for. It's recruiting, sure I get the game and do dynasty alot (I also have a 20th year with PSU) but I mainly get the game to play my friends on-line. And the extra costume's may be stupid to put as DLC, but again, if you buy it, it's just as stupid. It's rare I'll buy DLC for a game because I simply don't care enough about a game to buy it, but Mass Effect and Dante's Inferno were so I bought the DLC for them. Not the costumes for Dante's though
