Born on January 24th, 1984 Jeremy Sterling grew up in his hometown of Sterling, Virginia. While wrestling was never a very mainstream idea in Sterling, it was always Jeremy’s passion. His family roots were tied in Tennessee and it was always Jeremy’s favorite place to visit due to all of the diehard wrestling fans that lived there. Once Jeremy Sterling had turned 21 he wrestled in a company known as Extreme United Wrestling for Ash Matthews and would wrestle here until the summer of 2007. In 2007, Sterling decided to open up his own wrestling company known as Kingdom of Pride Wrestling. It was located out of Knoxville, Tennessee, however after four months of being open, Jeremy Sterling fell on financial hard times and was forced to shut Pride Wrestling down. With the start of 2009, Jeremy Sterling has decided to reopen his federation Kingdom of Pride, however after an incident between Robbie Venom and Jeremy Sterling, Sterling was forced to once again shut Pride down, or face a massive exodus of his roster. Following Pride's closure, Jeremy Sterling joined Aiden Bamford's promotion Pro Wrestling FIRE where he wrestled for a year until the closure of the promotion was announced. Following the closure, Sterling, with long time friend Kurt Noble, wanted to keep the form of wrestling PWF had set going and began to reinvest in reopening Kingdom of Pride with high hopes of Pride once again reigning supreme over the independent wrestling field.
Kingdom of Pride Owner: Kurt Noble
Kurt Noble was born on April 8th, 1979. From a very young age, Noble received wrestling training uner fromer wrestler "The Phenomenal Blu." In 2006, Noble made his professional wrestling debut in a small federation known as Tough Enough Wrestling, and since then, has become an indy phenomenon. In 2007, Noble signed up for the Kingdom of Pride, and quickly became one of its top draws, even becoming the Valiant and Scramble Champion, before becoming injury-plagued. Noble then took a wrestling hiatus, and began doing his own backstage work, even running his own promotion, the Quixotic Wrestling League, which closed after a few months. In 2009, Noble joined the Pro Wrestling FIRE roster, and reunited with Jeremy Sterling. The two went into talks about reopening Pride, and following the close of PWF, the two went to business, and the reopened the federation. Noble hopes to bring his veteran experience to the table, and promote a competitve, intense environment.
Kingdom of Pride Backstage Correspondent: Alex Avice
Alex Avice has always been known to have a rather large mouth and has always enjoyed being on camera. Avice is a former professional wrestler, but has since decided to become a backstage correspondent due to his extreme dislike for the pain of wrestling. Avice’s first job as a backstage correspondent came in 2007 when he was called up by his wrestling mentor, Jeremy Sterling. Sterling offered Avice a job as a wrestler first, but it was quickly turned down, however as a backstage correspondent, Avice jumped at the opportunity and soon became known as the Mouth of the Pride.
Kingdom of Pride Ring Announcer: Ike Rose
By far the oldest staff member on the roster, Ike Rose is, like his colleagues, a former wrestler. However, his generation of wrestling started while Jeremy was still in diapers. At the age of 18, Rose began wrestling for several different promotions and had a decent amount of success, but never got onto the national stage. Rose wrestled for a total of 23 years before retiring from the ring at the age of 41. Sterling, who had met Rose at a wrestling convention, loved Rose’s voice and believed he could easily be known as the voice of his new promotion as the old ring announcer that Pride had, Jon Walt, had signed an exculsive deal with another company.
Kingdom of Pride Play-by-Play Commentator: Keith Oswalt
Oswalt has always had a niche for wrestling, however he never pursued it as Jeremy did. Growing up as childhood friends, Keith and Jeremy would constantly talk about wrestling, but when Jeremy finally pursued his dream of becoming a professional wrestler, he didn’t exactly talk to Oswalt all that often about it. In 2007 when Sterling decided to create Kingdom of Pride Wrestling, he racked his brain who had an extensive knowledge of wrestling and the first person that came to mind was his best friend from his childhood, Keith Oswalt.
Kingdom of Pride Color Commentator: Eric Witz
Eric Witz received his job in Kingdom of Pride due to his nice voice, cocky demeanor, and sarcastic attitude. Everything about Witz rubbed Sterling as the perfect color commentator, and while he didn’t know much about the man when he asked, Sterling took a stab in the dark and offered Eric a spot as a color commentator. Shockingly enough to Sterling, Witz happened to dream of one day being a color commentator and gleefully accepted his new position.
Kingdom of Pride Senior Referee: Chris Owens
Owens has always been Sterling’s by-the-books type of friend that did everything the fair way. He never was much into professional wrestling, but when Sterling came to him and offered him a job as a referee for his new wrestling company, Owens really had no choice but to oblige as he was out of a job at that time. Everything Owens does is by the books and he has very little tolerance for anybody that cheats and is not afraid to disqualify a person for taking a short cut to win.
