Another week was over and done with and another win was recorded in the books for myself. I was working hard and I was being challenged all things that I found very good. I needed the competition to stay on top of my game because I knew going forward I had big plans, but the facts were ... I just couldn't let it get to my head. Beating Christian Kane and following it with a triple threat victory over Adam Abel and Chris Strike were huge notches in my hat, but they were not notches that were coming easy. Still since being here I had made Abel tap, pinned Kane twice, pinned Strike, and had also managed a victory over Steven Watson Carter. One could argue I was taking on the toughest matches in the KoP, but it was just the beginning. For weeks I was one of two people being targeted by the hate of Kane and Abel and it seemed I was destined to be at the butt end of it once again.
This time I was not going to stand alone, this time I was going to stand with a man I respected and trusted as Chris Hart would be in my corner watching my back as we took on the two people bent on thinking they are the future of the KoP. For me losing wasn't going to be an option, this victory was like driving the nail into the coffin of all their dreams. I would be ready, I would be waiting, but at the moment ... I would be on vacation.
The scene opens to what can only be described as beautiful. The sun is high in the sky which is clear blue and is shining down on an ocean with nice waves and people surfing on them. All around their are woman clad in bikini and men in their shorts. It looks like a great time and smack dab in the middle of it all don't you know would be Josh Eagles and Katie Chang. Both are clad in outdoor swimwear and seem to be having a lot of fun hitting a volley ball back and forth to each other.
"You know it feels weird to say this Katie, but I can't believe I let you talk me into this."
Katie smiles as she volleys the ball up to herself and bats it back at Josh who is barely able to one arm it back over to her as it was almost out of his reach.
"Everyone needs time to wind down and cool off. Luckily for you, you just happen to have the money to afford to do so!"
Josh laughs as he kicks a ball that nearly hits the ground and then smacks it back Katie's way. The two of them look to be having a very good time.
"Money was never the issue, I have more of it then I know what to do with. It's time! I mean all the clients I was supposed to meet this week aren't going to be happy I decided to vacate. Not too mention in just days time I'll be in the main event once again taking on Christian Kane and Adam Abel."
"Yes but you won't be alone. Chris Hart is going to be in that match also."
"Ya the guy who is probably training, working hard and wondering where the heck I am!"
Katie let's the ball hit the sand as she places both hands on her hips and stares at Josh, clearly far from a fan of the current conversation, but it seems there is no choice but to have it.
"Well then Josh you can just let him. He has your number, if he was that worried about what you were doing he would call you and find out. Has he done that?"
"Well no, he, well no."
"Exactly. Hart knows that you have his back and that the two of you are capable of beating Kane and Abel and therefore he doesn't need to worry about what your doing. He knows you will come prepared and ready for that match no matter what."
Josh kicks the dirt around his feet, but he can't argue knowing that what Katie says made sense. He drifts into thought thinking back to the days he was teaming with Hart and Noble, when he had their back and he knew that they always trusted him and never doubted him for a moment. This brings a smile back to his face.
"I hate to say it, but you're likely right Katie."
"Likely? I am always right it's just how this whole thing works."
"Hence why I say I hate to say it, you just gloat. But I have to be honest with you, I kinda feel sorry for Kane and Abel."
Now Katie looks shocked and she whips the ball at Josh, but he deflects it rather easily.
"Why the heck would you feel sorry for those two backstabbing morons! Don't feel anything for them!!! You used to be someone who had Abel's back, but he could never open up enough to trust you and then he stabbed you in your back, he became the man in you he said he hated!! Kane is just a pig, a slob, a good for nothing hack who shouldn't be mentioned!"
"Yes and while all of those are very vaild points you are missing something. Both of them just want their career to be bigger then it ever was and so they are trying to do that at the expense of the two biggest names in the KoP. They are trying to do it at my own and Hart's expense. But while I want to rip them to shreds, I more feel sorry for what Hart is going to do to them."
Katie raises an eyebrow in question and Josh laughs that she doesn't seem to get it.
"Chris Hart is not a man I would want mad at me, let's just say that much. He called both of these two out last week, he shows no fear and that is the way to conquer the kind of men Kane and Abel are. They were using the numbers game to gain advantages over Hart and myself and now that's dwindled and they know they have no advantage. Simply put Hart and myself are better focused, better prepared, and just all around better athletes then those two."
"Still no reason to go and feel sorry for what they brought upon themselves. I hope that when you two are done wiping the floor with them that maybe Kane realizes his little title match is going to be futile and it won't even matter. He can't get advantage of Hart using underhanded tactics, he won't be able to touch him one on one."
Josh shrugs and picks up the ball and idly starts tossing it back and forth from hand to hand.
"Really not my department. The match between CK and Hart is their business and that will play out however it does though I am pulling for them. But no matter who wins they should be watching for me cause I still have desires for that belt and I am cleaning out contenders left right and center and if I have my way I will be cleaning out one more."
"Who is that?"
"Adam Abel! I'm used to and I expect Kane to be a dick and an ass but the recent change in Abel makes my stomach churn. He has become a hypocrite, turned his back on everything he said he hated about me to join that same side. Honest to god it makes me sick and I want to make him pay for everything he has ever said to me, the times he has ever mocked me or put me down. I want to make Abel hurt and they just keep giving me chances."
"It won't mean anything until you get him one on one."
"I'll get him one on one and I'll beat him, just like I did the first week here and just like I beat Kane two weeks ago. By the time this month is out Abel will be down four to zero in KoP matches against me and no amount of whining will change that!"
Katie smiles and nods and gives him the thumbs up.
"You know you always have my support. But let's just let it all be for now and enjoy the summer weather! There ain't no use in having millions if you are not going to spoil yourself every now and again!"
Josh laughs and nods as Katie launches the ball back in his direction and he returns it, but there is now something different in his eyes, a smoldering fire.
Katie wanted me to banish things from my thoughts, but my thoughts were consumed by my opponents this week. It was one of the biggest matches I've had in KoP and a chance to get a measure of payback for the recent weeks. I wasn't going to let a chance this good slip through my fingers. I was going to walk in with Hart and walk out a victor once again. Abel and Kane would feel like judgement day had come early.
