Tommy Hargrove knows that Nick Hill isn’t the best choice for a personal trainer but something about the well built Italian seems to put Tommy at ease. It could be the history he has with Nick or maybe Tommy has hopes that some of Nick’s popularity will rub off on him. Whatever the case Tommy is stuck with his choice, come hell or high water. Tommy will attempt to do the impossible, turn away from being a social pariah and turn into one of the most well liked and popular superstars in professional wrestling.
“Tommy we’ve got some work to do.” Nick Hill stands topless above Tommy Hargrove, his ripped muscles glisten in the sunlight. “Get on up, don’t quit on me, you need to keep pushing yourself until you find what works.”
Tommy with his knuckles curled under his body is in a pushup position, his curved elbows buckle and he falls flat on his face. “Holy cow Nick, I’ve already done a hundred push up’s, how many more do you expect me to do?” Tommy rolls on his back and stares up at Nick.
“I don’t want to hear that Tommy, every week you seem to regress, we need to nip this in the butt before you become the resident laughing stock of KOP. Some people have already been calling you a loser, saying you have no talent and deserve to fight people like Obscene week after week.” Tommy attempts to talk but Nick shoots Tommy an evil look. The slightly pudgy Tommy remains quiet, continuing to look towards the sky.
Nick moves away from his friend, he kicks a tuft of grass and lets out a loud contemptuous sigh. “You know Tommy, the reason we decided to ride you so hard in school was because everyone knew you as a quitter. Remember when we’d play skins and shirts, you’d always fake an injury and sit on the sidelines. Remember when it came time to climb the ropes? Remember how you’d stand there and half heartedly attempt to climb? “ Tommy sits up, crossing his legs and staring towards Nick.
“L-look Nick, you guys always forced me to be on the skins team, then you’d laugh and tease me about my boobies, playing the game just wasn’t worth it for me. If I went to the sidelines it was better than being abused, also you want to talk about trying to climb the ropes?” Tommy looks serious, his temples flare and a slightly reddish hue comes over his face. “Remember when I did try to climb the ropes, I actually started to make my way upward, then Timmy Bowerstein charged over and tugged my pants down. It was one of the most embarrassing moments of my entire life.”
Nick turns away from his friend, his chest begins to heave and light chuckles escape his lips. “Listen up Tommy, we were all kids, sometimes kids do stupid shit, you can’t hold that against us for the rest of our lives. I mean seriously Tommy the things we did were fucked up, we only did them because you let us.” Nick turns around, now glaring towards Tommy. “This is what I’ve been talking about Tommy, you let people walk all over you, your lazy and you quit on everything.”
Tommy lowers his head and looks toward the ground. “Are you telling the truth Nick? You guys only messed with me because I didn’t stop it?”
Nick looks at his friend with a fire in his eyes. “Yes Tommy, if you had done anything to defend yourself we would have found a new target. It’s quite a shame because after a while it got pretty boring doing shit to you, but you were an easy mark.” Nick realizes what he said and attempts to repair the damage. “I mean really Tommy you just made it too easy, I was growing tired of being a douche bag and wanted to stop, but you know how peer pressure can be.”
Tommy knows all too well what peer pressure is, after all he went to the senior prom with his cousin simply because his Grandparents forced him too. The saddest part of all is his cousin actual left mid-way through the prom with Lamar Headly. “Yeah Nick, I know what peer pressure is all about, I’ve had to deal with it all my life Nick, do you think it was fun being fat, having kids chant fatty - fatty two by four when I came to class, trying to become anorexic so I could fit in with other kids. I just wanted to be popular, to join in with the other kids and have an enjoyable time, I’d have done anything to achieve that.”
Nick Turns his head slightly, his fire has extinguished and he looks a bit saddened “Being popular wasn’t easy either Tommy, having to worry every day that I wasn’t perfect enough. Needing to re-think everything I said to ensure it wasn’t unpopular. Hell it was almost like a fucking job, Charlie controlled who was popular and who was un-popular. If you didn’t do what he said then you’d be outcast.” Nick looks towards the floor and sighs. “Anyway, lets get ready for the next match up, you are set to face Storm”
