I guess one could say that I was flying high this week. I had continued to ride a hot streak and had managed to overcome odds that nobody thought that I could and obtained a victory over both Adam Abel and Chris Strike even though most people thought I didn't have what it took, I fought and in the end I won, I overcame the odds and won. I had found it weird that every week I was the constant underdog, everyone expected me to lose, to not be able to beat whomever it was that was across the ring from me. But in the end I was happy I was, it was giving me something to work for and this week would be no different. I was going to be tasked with teaming with someone I was more then sure didn't really like me all that much to take on the two giants of the KoP.
The Krieg they had been dubbed, two silent men who seemed good at one thing and one thing only ... hurting people. This week it would be likely I would be one of those that they were aiming to hurt, destroy, possibly mane. But to me honest, I was looking forward to the challenge. It had been a long time since I had stepped into the ring with men built like mountains and attempted to play out the David and Goliath epic. It would not be an easy ride, but it would be a great measuring stick to what I was going to be able to do next. As far as I could see these two had dominated the roster, they were secretive, strong, and headed by a hot blonde chick who did all the talking ... just the kind of excitement I needed this week.
Our scene comes to life in a brilliant flare of life showing what looks to be a very lazing about Josh Eagles, although he maybe doing work in his opinion. He is sitting at his desk in Eagles Enterprises with his feet flung up on the hard oak and leaning back in his chair rifling through mail clearly yawning all the way. The stacks of mail in front of him are endless, but he isn't even opening them up just reading the front of them and tossing them to one side or the other.
"Bill, bill, bill, client, client, client I don't want, junk, junk ... GOD isn't there anyone who can screen this mail?"
The comment seems to be to himself as he tosses a couple more letters to the side and slumps down in his chair clearly bored out of his mind, but a crack in the door, a sudden change of camera angle revealing a very nice looking Katie Chang as she comments shows it in fact didn't fall on deaf ears.
"There are tons of people who screen your letters. All bills need to be seen by you as according to the policy you put in place years ago to ensure nobody was skimming money off the top they needed your approval. Which also goes along with this ..."
Katie hands Josh a thick black binder that is the size of two epic's rolled up into one.
"That would be this months expense report, the second part of that little policy you put into place ... I really won't miss looking through those and checking everything now that your back. As for the clients, we all know you pick and choose who you want all on your own, hence they all came to you."
Josh looks at Katie with a dumbfounded look, pretty near the same as his everyday look clearly forgetting he used to know what working actually was.
"Well what about the junk mail?"
"Those are from me. I made sure to tell the people who sort the mail that gets up to you to make sure to include at least ten pieces of junk to keep you on your toes. You know if you sorted your mail and looked at it more then once a month, it would be easier."
Josh shakes his head and stands up pushing the chair back and walks around to the front of the desk to lean on it and look at Katie who is sitting in a chair in front of him.
"You know Katie I am feeling there are a lot of things that could go better for me. I've decided that due to recent events I am going to make some drastic changes around here ... if the monster main event I am booked in this week has taught me anything it is I need to reduce my work load here running the company if I am to be successful in the ring. I look at my desk and I see piles of work, something no single man SHOULD do on his own and I have you by my side and it still barely gets done. I look to the ring and I see a tag team of monsters and I know it's nothing no single man should face alone and I don't I have Chris Strike in my corner. But the fact remains, not even the two of us could get things done ... by the way do you have the stuff on The Krieg?"
Katie nods and places a much thinner red folder on the table, the folder contains a mere two pages. Josh picks it up and flicks it open and the camera pans around to show little on the 1st page and a blank 2nd page.
"What? This is it? I put the full force of E.E behind you, some of the best information seekers in the world today and all you come up with is ... their names, combined weight, their wrestling style, the fact they work for the KoP, and they have a manager and don't talk?"
Katie shrugs and nods and Josh throws the folder back onto the desk.
"Katie that looks like part of an application you'd pull off of one of those wrestling federation game sites, e-federations or something like that. You could just give me a list of their frequently used moves as well."
Smiling Katie produces another piece of paper that Josh looks at and it's a list of moves the pair tend to use and Josh gives a mock laugh and throws the paper to the side.
"What am I supposed to do with this?"
"Well Josh I don't know. I used all of our contacts and nobody can find out anything on these guys. We know they have been trained to destroy, both claim to be from Russia but clearly are not and one crazy person even said something about a Super Soldier project."
"A super soldier project?"
"Yes apparently a common theory for these two characters Somba and Dahaka is that the Russian's were inspired by Cpt America comics and decided to launch their own Super Solider Project with some sort of classified name. But they were afraid they would be caught so they abducted men from different backgrounds to be apart of the project to shift blame from them, these two seem to be the biggest successes."
"And what would they be doing in a wrestling ring?"
"Well apparently it is a perfect cover. You see wrestling is a sport dominated by larger then normal men and the rumor of theatrics in the world of wrestling makes it lead to the feats of strength these two pull off are just part of a show. So they can test their skills and pick up valuable combat data with this girl they are with being some sort of scientist posing as a manager to pool data."
Josh stands there staring at Katie who is looking back at him with a straight face.
"Are you serious?"
"I don't know, there is nothing else on them."
"So you want me to believe they are fake Russian Super Soldiers instead?"
"Why not? What's the worst that can happen? You go in over prepared?"
Josh leans back on the desk mulling things over in his head, you could smell the toast burning if you were there.
"You know what, it adds a little ring to the match I guess. I've already gotta walk into this with a partner I am not sure likes me let alone doesn't hate me for some reason to face two monsters of men. I am okay with labelling them as Russian Experiments, it will make victory that much sweeter."
Katie laughs as Josh nods, but her laugh and their mirth is brief.
"Speaking of Chris Strike, I really thing you should be careful going into this match. I believe you are right, the man just doesn't like you."
"Well he said as much last week ... I think he is on the a zebra can't change it's stripes band wagon with half the rest of the world. But we'll be a fine team I am confident in that."
"Why is that?"
"Strike and I may not share a lot in common, but we do share one thing ... we both like to win. Some of the greatest teams I've been apart of have been with people who really didn't like me ... Shawn Stevens, Reck Maverick, Flap Flanagan, Kid Luck, Thaurer, all people I won tag gold with, all people who didn't like me. You see when someone who is as talented and has the drive to compete like Strike steps into the ring, they are their to win. He will put things to the side and he will wrestle to win because it's what men of his caliber do ... they just win. I'm confident in his ability and plus, he may not like me, but he is a pretty stand up guys."
"Well hopefully stand up enough to tip the balance in your favor."
Josh shrugs and starts looking around the desk until he notices that report again.
"Oh, so back to those changes. I have news for you, next week I am going to be taking the week off, I won't have a match at the KoP I will be focusing my full attention to his company."
Katie looks like it was Christmas morning, her eyes light up and a smile glides across her face.
"Please tell me this isn't some sort of joke? I mean you are serious?"
"I am Katie. You've made me realize that I am too untrusting and I want to put faith back in the people who work here. So we are going to put new policies in place the two of us. We will be opening and launching a new department for client recruitment, having mail forwarded to the proper departments, increase our accounting and billing staff and overhaul the way this company is run. We are going to employ more people, give some people raises and we are going to look over the management structure and ensure everyone is in a good place. It will be a busy week setting things in motion."
"Don't get me wrong here I am excited about all of this, it's a lot sure but I am excited. Just tell me one thing, it has nothing to do with trust, it's all about reducing the work you have to do isn't it?"
"Katie I am shocked, a good company is one run by more then one person. It's a team effort and I want to be a team player."
"You are so full of shit."
Josh smiles, the smile is big and he just shrugs.
"So what if I am. I've been main eventing almost every week, my career is finally beginning to pick back up and I think I have a real shot at becoming a champion in the KoP and I want to take advantage of that. I think in the end the company will run better because of these changes."
"I'm not disputing that, they are sound choices if we get them working right ... I just don't want you to bullshit the reasons. Well not to me anyway."
"Fair enough. Well I guess I should get back to thinking of how I am going to overcome more odds once again and beat our Super Soldiers."
"Oh, but first this came to you. The mail guys wanted me to see it, it's kinda strange."
Josh raises his eyebrows and takes the letter from Katie opening it up. It's a plain white unmarked envelope.
Josh looks to read it over once or twice but then laughs and tosses it to the side.
"Well?"
"Meh nothing to really worry about. I've pissed a lot of people off, seen a lot of things like this but nothing every comes of it. If it does then we'll deal with it when it happens. Now if you don't mind too much I'd like some time for quiet monster ass kicking reflection."
Katie looks worried and unconvinced but agrees and leaves the room anyway. As soon as the door closes Josh picks up the letter and his brows furrow as he starts reading it again.
"Who are you?"
A mysterious letter, two deadly opponents, and a company to run. My week was getting better by the minutes. One thing at a time, 1st i'd be looking to continue to build my momentum and deal with my 'Russian' friends, then I'd worry about turning this company around, and then look into finding out more about my secret admirer. This was the life of Josh Eagles, one struggle after another, but you know what they say. What doesn't kill you ... just hurts like a bitch.

Your time for punishment will come Josh Eagles.
You have forgotten me but I have not forgotten you.
Be prepared as I look upon my enemies;
I show no mercy.
